About Mwingi-North Constituency

Mwingi North Constituency is in Kitui County and it borders Mwingi Central, Tharaka, Mbeere constituencies and to the east it borders Mwingi National Park.
It has five administrative wards are five. Namely; Tseikuru, Kyuso, Ngomeni,Mumoni and Tharaka. Mwingi North Constituency is an ASAL area with challenges such as poor infrastructure, little rainfall, poor literacy levels. The main economic activity is farming and rearing of livestock.
The constituency has a population of 145,000 inhabitants. The dominant ethnic groups are the Kamba and a few Tharaka.
